Phase 1 of IS101-3003/5, Spring 2026

During this phase, I believe I did the best that I could do at the time. However, that will not stop me from doing the best of what is needed. During the past weeks, I have been juggling working 2 jobs and am currently experiencing burnout. But today, I've decided to reset and start over with a stronger work ethic for the rest of the semester. One semester lasts for 4 months, and in those 4 months, many things can happen. In the past, I tended to be hard on myself if I don't do my best halfway through the semester. This results in the "Whatever. I've already failed. Let's fail even more" attitude. In life, I have noticed that you will experience hardships, and the only thing you can do is get back up. That is my attitude to perform my best in this class!

A topic from Chapter 4 that was really fun to learn was 4.9.2 Theme and Style Sets. I liked how cohesive the themes that Microsoft already gives. It's very gentle on the eye and it doesn't seem overbearing. Which makes sense as a team of designers are likely to be behind the designs. I like the versatility and how professional it also looks.

For the upcoming MO-110 Word Certification Exam, I plan to practice the previous chapters as much as I can. I really hope I can pass the first time, but if not I'm glad that Microsoft gives you another chance to take the test again. This opportunity will be great on my resume as Accounting internships or job openings require Microsoft Excel, Word, or PowerPoint experience and a certification really stands out as credible.

I'm really looking forward to the rest of my journey from this class and I hope to come out succesful in the end!

  1. Reset is a good way to fight burnout, Lovelle :-)

Lightening up on yourself by recognizing your own excellent work such as your A5 Slideshow Presentation is better!

You will conquer the MO-110 Word exam and come out successful at the end of IS101-3005, Spring 2026 ^_^

  2. Hi Lovelle, I can relate to what you said about burnout because honestly I’m starting to feel that too. Balancing classes and everything else can really drain your energy after a while. What pushes me to keep going sometimes is my own stubborn mindset. In my head I imagine people, even Professor Albert, mocking me and saying that I would fail this class. That thought actually pushes me to focus more because I don’t want to give anyone the chance to laugh at me. It might sound a little dramatic, but it works as motivation for me.

I also agree with you about the themes and style sets in Word. They really do make documents look more professional without having to design everything from scratch. Sometimes just choosing a good theme already makes the document look clean and organized. Your plan to keep practicing for the MO-110 exam sounds solid. Hopefully all that practice will help you pass it the first time.

  3. Hey Lovelle, for the first time coming up soon, I will be taking up 2 jobs and thankfully it's towards the end of the semester because I don't know how that would've shaken out but you are strong for that. For people like us that have had to manage school and work and even something non-negotiable like exercising it will pay off in the end for us!

  4. Hello Lovelle, I can relate to how you're experiencing burnout. I believe your new attitude is going to benefit you in the long run! I like to look through the themes and style sets sometimes just to appreciate how they look. Using them is so much easier than trying to design the document by hand. I'm sure you did well on your exam and that you'll do great in the rest of the semester.

  5. Hi Lovelle!! Balancing two jobs and school is not easy at all, so it makes sense that you’ve been feeling burned out. The fact that you’re choosing to reset and keep going says a lot about your determination.

  6. Hey Lovelle! It's great to see no matter how hard your circumstances may be you still find the motivation and discipline to do what needs to be done in the classroom. I personally believe showing that determination doesn't just spill into just school and it shows with you working two jobs. With your mindset your bound to succeed best of luck!

  7. Hi Lovelle, yeah juggling 2 jobs and going to school is exhausting, mentally and physically. Sacrificing 4 months of the year is a challenge we all face, but with the right balance and time management, I think we all can achieve our goals. Have a great rest of the semester!

  8. Hi Lovelle. I like that you are moving forward, no matter what problems happen. I have also faced regret after not making the best choices at times. However, the first paragraph of this blog post is inspirational to me and to others who have faced regret after making a specific choice.

  11. Hi Lovelle, burnout is no joke, especially while working two jobs, but the fact that you’re choosing to reset instead of giving up says a lot about your resilience. I also loved reading your thoughts on the Theme and Style Sets section. It’s true that Microsoft’s built‑in designs are surprisingly polished, and it makes assignments feel more professional without having to start from scratch.

  12. Hi, Lovelle, I agree that for the upcoming MOS office exam, we need to review. I will also try to practice more on the previous chapter, review it until I know to mustang about the subject well.

  14. Hi Lovelle! It's very inspiring to hear that you've decided to do a reset! Juggling two jobs and school all at once must be difficult! I can barely juggle one job and school lol! Props to you ^_^ "Failure" is just proof of trying!

  15. Having two jobs and doing college work would really burn you out too quickly. Thankfully you manage to push through and change that failing mindset to a better one! Hope you finish strong this semester!

  16. I respect your mindset a lot, especially balancing 2 jobs while still pushing forward in school. The part about resetting instead of giving up was really motivating. I also agree that the Word themes look surprisingly professional and clean.

  17. Hi Lovelle, two jobs and school is a lot! I'm glad you decided to push through and make the most of it. Really, it's about putting your best foot forward and trying to do your best. A lot can happen in 4 months! For me I went from a part-time job to a full-time and I am juggling 3 children and trying to maintain a social life and tackle school. The social life is on the backburner; I tend to cancel most events because everything else is a higher priority. But work drains you mentally and physically so don't be so hard on yourself. Have a great summer!

  19. Hey Lovelle, I believe you are Filipino as well? :) We are known for our resiliency, it's nice that you are trying to retain such a trait. Life is tough and everything that happens in our lives are very challenging, but you are brave for getting back up on your feet and doing your best regardless of whether you are sure or not that things will be better this time. I want to let you know that I admire you for that and you inspire me!
